BPD International GmbH
Established in 2020, BPD International GmbH advises contractors, developers, exporters and financial institutions worldwide on structured finance, export finance, project finance and risk management. Every mandate gets a structure built for that specific project.
We cover the full process: financial modelling, structuring, arranging the financing and managing the transaction through to repayment.

As the industry consolidates, large providers are losing interest in small companies and small transactions. Yet SMEs are the lifeblood of the economy. We gladly take on small deals between small parties – and fill the gap the large players leave behind.
Infrastructure
We originate, structure and arrange financing for large, sustainable infrastructure projects worldwide – with one of the largest arranging capacities in the Swiss export finance market. Our aim: keep these services available to Swiss industry and give SMEs access to such projects as sub-suppliers.

Our team of six experts works from Switzerland (four), Kenya and Turkey. Together we bring more than 100 years of experience in banking, trade, advisory, procurement, project and portfolio management and business development – plus deep expertise in the food processing industry.

Jérôme has more than 30 years of experience in export finance, including 14 years in banking at Crédit Lyonnais, Calyon, Crédit Agricole and Credit Suisse. He founded Xport Finance Ltd in 2017 and BPD International GmbH in 2020, and is passionate about building partnerships in cross-border lending.

Erik has 30 years of banking experience, the last 15 of them at Credit Suisse structuring and executing structured trade finance, export finance and project finance transactions. Since joining BPD in summer 2023, he has played a key role in its large and complex transactions.

Oleksandr brings 15 years of experience in trade and agricultural project finance. As head of the credit department at UkrLandFarming, he managed a large portfolio and led due diligence processes in the agricultural sector.

Based in Istanbul, Serkan brings 20 years of trading experience and a deep network among private Turkish companies. He positions BPD in infrastructure projects and with Turkish importers and exporters of equipment and services, and represents BPD in neighbouring countries.

For more than 30 years, Jean-Claude has led companies in the food processing industry. After 25 years as engineer and manager at Bühler – in Switzerland, the Philippines, Morocco, Saudi Arabia and Kenya, latterly as regional managing director – he held senior roles in large groups in Singapore, Sudan, Tanzania and Nigeria. At BPD he drives our food security activities with his experience in engineering, management and procurement.

Giovanni is a senior banker with 36 years in international trade and project finance at UniCredit, West Merchant Bank, WestLB and Credit Suisse. His sectors include industrials, shipping, cruise, aviation, oil & gas, renewables, satellites and infrastructure. His expertise in trade finance, supplier and buyer credits, forfaiting and project finance – backed by all major European and Asian ECAs and PRIs – strengthens BPD's arranging capacity.
